Being A Teacher Is Not Easy...

Recently, I have come back to my hometown for sem break. It is really good to be at home because I am not need to spend a lot of money on food and transport. Besides, I can wash my clothes by washing machine. No need to spend my time on washing clothes. hehe... Furthermore, I can visit my friends or go to anywhere by car. It is more convenient if compared to life in my campus. =P

Now, I am helping my family to run the coffee shop in my hometown. Actually, I used to help my family before since I was young. Usually, I will help in the shop after school everyday. So, some of the customers know about me. It has been age that they didn't see me because I only went back to hometown once a month. So, whenever they met me, their first reaction is very suprised and then followed by the questions "Are you on vacation now?How long are your holidays?" Next, they will ask me which college am I studying. When I say I study in the institution of teaching (IPG) and have been a teacher trainee, they will say "It's good for you to be a teacher in the future because teachers always have a lot of holidays and they only work for half day. Besides, being a teacher has a lot of benefits."

In my opinion, some people have wrong judgement on the occupation of teacher. They always think that teachers have more holidays and less working hours. However, teachers have their own problems too. To me, being a teacher is never an easy task. Teachers are not only need to teach the students but also have to do some documents. When the children don't listen to the teachers, they cannot scold or beat the children as the way they like because they will be complaint by the parents later if they do so. Yet, they have to treat the children patiently no matter how naughty the children are. As a teacher to be, I will feel guilty when I scold or beat a child who has been very naughty. This is because I think that I shall be patient and kind towards children no matter how naughty they are because my duty is to educate and protect them but not to punch or beat them. I will feel like I have hurted them when I beat them. It is really a matter of conscience..

Furthermore, teachers have to be very clever in handling their relationship with their colleagues. For example, we should not act too high in doing something. Being too smart will be boycotted by others sometimes. This was what I saw it before in real life. I believe that it is not only happening in teaching career but also in other careers too. However, I don't agree with the irresponsible attitude towards our job. In addition, some teachers like to gossip on their colleagues and even bully the new brooms. This is the thing I hate to see in this career. In the past, I have been a teacher temporarily in a primary school before. As the youngest teacher, I have been asked to do something by the senior teachers. They just gave me whatever jobs they like without considering my experience. I was really too new to some of the tasks. Luckily,I have a sister who has been a teacher for a few years there. She helped me in completing those tasks. Well, I just think that those tasks are the chances for me to learn new things. So, I would like to thank them for giving me such a good chance. Yet, teacher is also a human being who has his/her own emotion. Why should teachers have to bear the pressure exerted by the parents, children, colleagues and some other parties? Pity on teachers a lot...

In short, being a teacher has its own advantages and disadvantages. Despite the difficulties that I am going to meet in my teaching's life in the future, I still enjoy myself to be a teacher trainee in IPG. =)
